There are a handful of places on this earth that qualify as Wonders, and Victoria Falls is one of them, which is why this leg of the team's quest mattered. You come for the water, the great sheet of the Zambezi thundering into its gorge. But you sleep somewhere, and the room colors everything that happens after the mist settles.

Victoria Falls Safari Lodge earned its place on our itinerary because it sits close to the Wonder without pretending to be it. The property puts it roughly 4km from the Victoria Falls Rainforest: far enough that the lodge answers to the bush rather than the crowd, close enough that the falls are a short run down the road.
