Moab
Utah
A small river town on the Colorado with two national parks, a state park and miles of free Bureau of Land Management ground within an hour's drive: sandstone arches, mesa-top overlooks, rock art and dinosaur footprints. Arches and Canyonlands each charge $30 a car and Dead Horse Point $20; Arches dropped its timed-entry reservations for 2026, but check again for later years.
