Petra
Ma'an Governorate, Jordan
Petra is a Nabataean city cut into red sandstone in southern Jordan, entered from the town of Wadi Musa. Nearly all of it, including the Siq, the Treasury and the Monastery, sits inside a paid archaeological park, so the ground a member can stand on without a ticket is the town above it, the ridge road that runs behind the mountain, and the two free Nabataean and Neolithic sites in al-Bayda to the north.
