The coast India forgot to overhype.

There's a stretch of the Bay of Bengal that never made the circuit, and that's exactly the point. Stand on the coast road with the Eastern Ghats at your back and you feel it — this place stayed itself while the crowds went elsewhere. Come evening, RK Beach Road turns on: palm-lined boulevard, yellow auto-rickshaws, festival stalls, the sand full of people who came to be together. Then the low sun over the water, a lone fishing boat, shells pressed into the wet sand, and it goes quiet again. A rooftop table, a lime soda on linen, the road curving past black rock into the light. And when you want none of it, you drive toward Bheemili until the beach is gold and nearly empty, teal surf, one small boat, hazy green hills. This isn't about rankings.
